Social Skill Events
The social skills group was designed by our CEO + Clinical Director Miguel Flores and group of supervisors to provide 1:1 sessions with their behavioral technicians within a fun learning environment.
July 2023 & 2024
Welcome Week
The first theme of the social skills group was "Welcome Week". The purpose of the welcome week was to gather our clients and team together to learn about each other and ourselves. Activities include circle time, music & movement, "all about me" worksheets, safari scavenger hunts, snack time, outside play, and saying goodbye. Tichenor Clinic in Long Beach was kind enough to let us use their indoor/outdoor location for our social event.
Science Week
Our second social skill group was science-themed! The purpose of week two was to bring fun to life. Our amazing supervisors came together to gather materials for safe and easy science experiments. The day also included music & movement, snack time, a STEM scavenger hunt, and outside play. It was a fun way for our clients to work together with their peers and ask for help when needed!
Superhero Week
To kick off our third social skills group, our theme was superheroes! Our amazing staff and clients came into the theme by dressing up as their favorite superheroes. The day consisted of decorating face masks and capes. Once our uniforms were ready to go, we stepped outside to fight safe crime through our superhero scavenger hunt, music & movement, snack time, and outside play.
Graduation Week
Lastly, on week four we celebrated our clients with Graduation week. We kicked the day off with pizza and snacks, outside play, singing, dancing, and so much more fun. At the end of the day, we asked our client's parents and loved ones to join us during our graduation ceremony. Our clients received a certificate of completion and finished the day off with family photos.
